Major Ceremonies for Construction of Heart of Heaven (Altar of Heaven)

Besides possessing all the Strategic Location Elements as indicated, for the sacredness of the place, it is crucial to perform three most important ceremonies as follows:

      Commencement of Ground Breaking Ceremony
    1. Ceremony to draw earthly energy onto heaven (sky)
    2. Ceremony to draw celestial energy from heaven onto earth
    3. Ceremony to open Heaven Door

Of the three ceremonies, the most critical ones are:
    • Drawing of Celestial Energy from Heavy onto Earth

    • The act of drawing celestial energy onto the earth means to direct the energy right into the “Heart of Heaven” so that the “Heart of Heaven” will have a “Yin-Yang” effect. The “Yin-Yang” temperature at the time will vary from “extremely hot to least hot” (or literally “cold”). However, if the temperature while performing the ceremony remains unchanged without the “extremely hot and least hot” experience, it can be interpreted that the ceremony to draw the celestial energy from heaven onto the earth has failed.

    • Opening Heaven Door

    • While performing the Opening Heaven Door ceremony, the wind will be as strong as a storm. The clouds in the sky will turn around and stop with the white and black clouds hitting one another becoming a “Yin-Yang”. There must be such a phenomenon during the ceremony. If the sky remains unchanged, it can be interpreted that the ceremony to open the Heaven Door has failed.

In the event that both ceremonies have failed, it is necessary to wait another 12 years before they can be performed again.

Auspicious Time for Heart of Heaven Ceremony

The Heart of Heaven’s ground breaking ceremony must commence in the year of the “Rabbit” and within the same year it must be followed by the ceremony to draw earthly energy onto heaven (sky) and the ceremony to draw celestial energy from heaven onto earth. This is primarily because:
    • In the year of the Rabbit, there are auspicious times for “The Four Greats”, “The Four Justices” and “The Four Charismas”

As specified in the Feng Shui’s treatise, the ceremony to open the Heaven Door which is a part of the Heart of Heaven ceremony must be performed only in the year of the “Dragon”. This is primarily because:
    • In the year of the Dragon, there are auspicious times for “The Four Treasuries” and “The Four Treasure Troves”

Heart of Heaven Ceremony in Perfection
In the spirit of perfection, the Heart of Heaven ceremony must be performed in adherence to the Feng Shui theory together with the specific “Opening Heart of Heaven” mantra. Every single step of the construction rules as stipulated in the treatise must be strictly observed and followed. Furthermore, it is also equally important that the location of the Heart of Heaven be at the exact point of the heart. If the location is inaccurate, there will be no phenomena as described above.

    Construction History of Tian Tan

According to the ancient Chinese law of the palace, the professed grand master responsible for the compilation of Feng Shui treatise would pass on the knowledge of Tian Tan construction only to the person destined to become a “Kok Sue”. It was also mentioned that whoever not serving as “Kok Sue” would not have this know-how.

The first Tian Tan was built in the Ming Dynasty (Ming ruled China between 1368-1644 A.D.). It was completely renovated years later to preserve the invaluable and unique architecture. Today, Tian Tan is considered a highly popular tourist destination in Beijing.

The second Tian Tan is situated at HU LIN Foundation, Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province. It was built by Master Grianggrai Boontaganon, Founder and Chairman of HU LIN Foundation, the construction of which commenced in 2011.
