    Techapaibul Progenitor's Cemetery

The Techapaibul ancestors have two cemeteries in China:

    • The first cemetery was built during the time of "Pak Ear (Teochiew dialect). After building the cemetery, the descendants became wealthy.

    • The second cemetery was built during the time of Pak Ear's grandson, "Oh Yok Jong Khong" (Teochiew dialect). It was built when the family was already wealthy and prosperous.

    Positive Reaction of Cemetery

Before the cemetery was built the Techapaibul family was not well-off having to place grandchildren under the care of grandfather-in-law and grandmother-in-law. After the construction of the cemetery the situation of the family had not improved much until in the generation of Oh Yok Jong Khong who was the grandson of Pak Ear. At that time the family made their living by fishing. They coincidentally found a large number of black gold which happened to be in high demand then. Oh Yok Jong Khong used the money from selling the black gold to buy rice fields and grow rice crops. Consequently, the family had become so wealthy and prosperous that they owned a massive house as large as a town and was most prominent in the area.

The Techapaibul progenitor's cemetery built by Pak Ear was not a big one, but had generated immense wealth for the family in later years. The Feng Shui Master who built the cemetery used the symbol of an elephant with a molehill in the shape of a trunk embracing the cemetery. He placed the cemetery in the location of the elephant ear. In accordance with the Feng Shui treatise, if there is a current flowing directly into the front of the cemetery with an elephant trunk receiving the current and embracing the cemetery in the location of the elephant ear, it will bring rapid and great wealth. However, if the cemetery is not specifically set up to receive luck in such a way, the current will automatically become devil.

The Feng Shui Master had written his prediction on the altar that "the family would become wealthier than tens of thousands of carts" (Cart is supposedly used in this context as in those days people made their living by growing rice. Cart was the measurement of paddy in olden days.) He also mentioned that when it was time for the descendants to prosper, the family would be much wealthier than tens of thousands of cart, but the prosperity would cease when their great grandchildren read this prediction on the altar.

    New Cemetery

When Oh Yok Jong Khong became a millionaire, he built a new cemetery in an exceptional strategic location. This cemetery is extravagantly beautiful. It is also a good cemetery. However, the Techapaibul descendants were not as wealthy as the generation of Oh Yok Jong Khong. The reason for the decline is chiefly because succeeding generations did not pay attention to the cemetery of progenitor, allowing farmers to invade the area around the cemetery site; putting up all kinds of structures thus severely affecting its strategic location.
